Garden Diary: June 2018

Busy, busy June…

Suffolk Open Studios has come round again – all too quickly it feels.

Suffolk is home to many artists and makers and for everyone involved, our days are now taken up with completing new works, framing, tidying and sorting in preparation for the Open Studio weekends when visitors are free to visit  artists’ studios to see and talk about their work.

Instead of gardening I turn to hanging paintings in the studio, organising  sketchbooks, and setting out cards, prints and stationery for sale. The potting shed becomes an outdoor gallery and this year we are hoping visitors will spend time in the garden with a cup of tea and cake, sold to raise funds for Alan Deakins ‘Old Hippie on a Bike’ 1700 mile solo bike ride in aid of the Samaritans. You can follow his amazing adventures on Facebook. As always I’m looking forward to meeting new faces and old friends.
