InspirationI find inspiration all around me, in nature, music, language and the everyday world. I try to fix in my mind everything from the shadows on a wall, stamens of a flower, or contours of a face and then express what I see in my own way. I paint in watercolours with Series 7, Finest Sable, Windsor & Newton brushes using a dry-point technique and build up layers of colour with tiny paint strokes until I achieve the desired effect. My training in graphics has given me a love of typography and I often incorporate hand painted text into my artwork. Since moving to Suffolk in 2013 I have been concentrating of working in new ways at a larger scale. Please visit my website judithglover.co.uk to see examples of new work. |
